This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and how you can use your rights. It reflects the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.
Who we are
This website belongs to Merit Edge Academy. We are a coaching institute for Class 11 and 12 science students preparing for JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET (UG) and MHT-CET. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Merit Edge Academy.

What personal data we collect
We collect only what you choose to give us in the enquiry form:
- Who is filling in the form: a parent or guardian, or a student aged 18 or above.
- Your name and mobile number.
- Your email address, if you give it.
- The student's current class and the course they are interested in.
- Your preferred time for a call and your message, if you add them.
- Whether you ticked the consent box.
We do not ask for the student's name, date of birth, school, marks, address, Aadhaar number or photographs. Please do not include marks, health details or other sensitive information in your message.
Technical data: when you visit the website, our hosting provider processes your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the website and keep it secure. When you send the enquiry form, your browser sends it directly to Google, which receives your IP address with it.
We do not use analytics or advertising tools.
Why we use it
- To reply to your admission enquiry, by calling you or replying to your email.
- To keep a record that you agreed to our notice, including which version of the notice you saw.
- To keep the website secure and stop spam.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or share it with anyone except the service providers listed below and authorities that the law requires us to share it with.
Why we are allowed to use it
We use your enquiry details because you consent to it when you tick the consent box. We may also keep or disclose data where a law requires it, for example in response to a lawful request from a government authority.
Children
The enquiry form is for parents and guardians, and for students aged 18 or above. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children through this website. If a student under 18 starts filling in the form, it asks them to involve a parent or guardian and does not send anything. If you think a child has sent us their details, write to meritedgejeeneet@gmail.com and we will delete them.
Who we share it with
This website has no database of its own. Your enquiry is saved in our admissions spreadsheet in Google Sheets and emailed to our admissions team. These service providers process personal data for us:

Transfers outside India
Some of these providers store data outside India, including in the United States. Indian law allows this, except to countries the Government of India restricts.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries (the spreadsheet row and the email): deleted 12 months after our last contact with you if the student does not enrol.
- If the student enrols: the details become part of their admission records, which are covered by the enrolment form issued at admission.
- IP addresses used to stop spam: up to 10 minutes, in server memory only.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider under its own retention policy.
How we protect it
- The website uses HTTPS, so the form is sent encrypted.
- Enquiries are not stored on the website. They go straight to our admissions spreadsheet and inbox.
- We limit access to the admissions spreadsheet and inbox to the people who handle admissions.
- If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can:
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
- Ask us to correct, complete or update it.
- Ask us to erase it, unless we must keep it by law.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
- Nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to use them.
- Have your grievances dealt with by us and, after that, by the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, write to meritedgejeeneet@gmail.com. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act on a request.
Withdrawing consent
Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: send one email to meritedgejeeneet@gmail.com saying you no longer want us to use your details. We will stop using them and delete them, unless we must keep them by law. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Grievances
Our admissions team handles questions and complaints about personal data. To raise one, write to meritedgejeeneet@gmail.com.
We acknowledge grievances within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Links to other websites
This website links to other services, such as Instagram, Google Maps and the official exam websites. Nothing from these services loads until you click a link. Once you leave this website, the other service's privacy policy applies.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. If a change affects how we use details you have already given us, we will ask for your consent again.
